Adopting through the Catholic Children's Society

“Our social worker has been with us all the way." An adoptive parent, taken from CSCI Inspection Report 2005

Over the last 50 years we have been involved in the adoption of over five thousand children. We are registered with CSCI (the Commission for Social Care Inspection) as an Approved Voluntary Adoption Agency. To see our most recent report, click here.

The Catholic Children's Society works with people of any or no faith within South London, Kent, Surrey, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire and part of Oxfordshire. The children we place are “looked after” (in the care of) by local authorities from throughout the country. Sadly they cannot be brought up within their family. Every child has their own story and the reasons for their separation will make a lifelong impact. They will need patient loving care throughout their childhood and beyond. In the UK, there are 4,000 children needing adoptive families. They are:

  • Aged 3 plus
  • Black and children of mixed ethnicity of all ages
  • Sibling groups of brothers and sisters
  • Children with special medical needs
  • Children who need extra help and support with their learning and development

Adoption works! Extensive research and personal testimony confirms adoption is a positive choice for children who cannot be brought up with their birth family.
